Instructor Jovanny started his Martial Arts training at the age of 8. Along with his younger sister, they started taking Karate lessons in a local community center in Orange County. At the age of ten, his father forced him to start taking Tae Kwon Do lesson because he was tired of seeing him "lounging around" the house.
He studied under Master Seung Hyung Lee for over 10 years. Jovanny participated in many tournaments and was also part of the schools demonstration team. By the time he was a 2nd Dan, he was already an assistant instructor .
He left Southern California and his Tae Kwon Do training in order to pursue his BA in Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. After some experimentation with other martial arts, Jovanny returned to Tae Kwon Do at Hwa Rang Kwan during his last semester in college.
Jovanny was promoted to 3rd Dan, and to Senior Instructor, in November 2009.

Looking back, Jovanny knows that being "forced" into Tae Kwon Do was one of the best things that his dad ever made him do. Jovanny is now determined to continue his martial arts training through out his life and help others young students see its advantages along the way.
