HWA RANG KWAN AFFILIATES

ATOMIC TAE KWON DO
atomic
Atomic holds two workouts at Hwa Rang Kwan each week, on Tuesday evening from 7.30-9.00pm, and on Saturday mornings from 11.30am-1.00pm.

Co-founders Master Matt Fishbach and Master Andy Maguire provide a venue for all Bay Area advanced Taekwondo students, regardless of school or association, to meet and train together in a cooperative and challenging environment. Unlike a traditional school setting, they focus on a high intensity cardio workout with less time devoted to basic techniques. Atomic Tae Kwon Do is perfect for advanced belts that desire an opportunity to supplement their existing training.

Each workout is 90 minutes and most sessions include:
• High-intensity stretching and calisthenics
• Competitive and safe sparring sessions
• Speed and reaction drills
• Power drills, with free standing bags
• Advanced kick techniques
• Video analysis of sparring (see the latest sparring videos)

TRIANGLE MARTIAL ARTS ASSOCIATION
Established in 1998 in the heart of San Francisco, California, TMAA is a not-for-profit martial arts club whose primary mission is to provide qualified and competent martial arts instruction to members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQQ) community throughout the US.

In meeting this primary mission they are dedicated to providing a warm, safe, welcoming, diverse and supportive environment in which everyone may come together to learn, understand, and advance in the martial arts, in their personal and social relationships, and in society in general.

Although primarily directed and geared toward encouraging membership from the LGBTQQ community, TMAA is also committed to providing equal membership to members of the straight community and to members who have not identified with either community. In conducting their affairs TMAA is committed to encouraging and exemplifying the following tenets:
• Equality for all, in all aspects of our operations
• Courtesy toward all
• Integrity and honesty in all interactions
• Loyalty

Classes are taught, under the auspices of Master Ken Craig, every Monday and Wednesday evening from 7.00-10.00pm.

PROGRESSIVE MARTIAL ARTS
Progressive Martial Arts (PMA), founded in 1999 by Hwa Rang Kwan Senior Instructor Master Anne Lundbom, develops confident, capable, and compassionate people who improve life around them, thus creating and strengthening activists - the warriors of today and tomorrow.

PMA is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving our communities’ ability to resolve conflict and prevent violence by making anti-oppression education and high quality martial arts training accessible for all people.

Classes are taught at Hwa Rang Kwan every Sunday morning (from 10.00-11.30am) by a female instructor in a safe and welcoming environment.

KENYA PRACH MUAY THAI
Former Thai Kickboxer Kenya Prach coaches his group of talented young Kickboxers at Hwa Rang Kwan every Thursday evening from 7.30-9.00pm, and on Sunday evenings from 6.00-7.00pm. Kenya's distinctive style has proven highly successful, and his proteges can be seen competing in Kickboxing smokers around San Francisco on a regular basis.

CARLEY GRACIE JIU JITSU ACADEMY
Professor Gracie, an 8th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, is generally regarded as one of the most technical practitioners of the legendary Gracie family, and he teaches his BJJ classes several times a week at Hwa Rang Kwan. See the Gracie Jiu Jitsu web site for the latest class schedule.

BUJINKAN SAN FRANCISCO DOJO
The Bujinkan or "Divine Warrior House" is an international training organization based in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It is headed by Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, the current generation head of nine ko-ryu or feudal-era traditions passed to him by his teacher, Toshitsugu Takamatsu.
Bujinkan training is divided into at least three areas: moral foundation, historical perspective, and physical training.

The Chief Instructor of Bujinkan San Francisco is Dale Seago. He has been involved in a variety of arts since 1967 but has focused exclusively on those of the Bujinkan since 1983. In 1989 he was tested and licensed as an instructor (which occurs at 5th dan) by Hatsumi Sensei, becoming one of the first 20 Americans to reach this level. He was promoted to 10th dan in 1998. Dale is assisted by Teri Seago, who is currently an 8th dan.
